FEATHERS SCALES & POCKET PETS

Jumanji the rabbit

MainPic

I was woken by the barking of Matilda my labrador x beagle pup. I thought she wanted to go out to the toilet so I stumbled out of bed and opened the back door. She refused to go out and simply stood at the door to the laundry instead. My two rabbits, Bingo and Jumanji were spending the night in the laundry but I told Matilda it was far too early to be playing with her new friends.

I decided that I would have a toilet stop too but as I walked into the bathroom I glanced at the toilet bowl and there was a little brown head looking up at me. Jumanji must have jumped up onto the toilet seat, lost his balance and fallen into the toilet! Matilda had been alerting me to the problem!

A fluffy school project

MainPic

Recently we received two fluffy yellow chicks as a result of my daughter's prep ‘living egg' project at school.

These chicks spent a lot of time with our two kids, often sitting on their shoulders whilst they were reading books, drawing or playing.

As the chicks grew the pair have moved to an outside chicken pen from the box in the laundry, however they still think it's cool to hang out with the kids and will walk inside the house if the door is left open and follow my daughter all over the house.

Last weekend we had friends over for a barbeque dinner and the parents were busy socialising leaving the kids to watch a DVD with the lights out. After a short while the children were all fast asleep in front of the telly. After a while it was time for our visitors to leave and so it was time to wake the kids.

Imagine our surprise when we found the two chickens propped up comfortably and fast asleep on the couch between our children. So cute!
